(Specific to Football, Lacrosse, Baseball, & Softball Events)


Severe Weather Plan

Should an outdoor Athletic Event need to be evacuated due to severe weather conditions, all event occupants will be given instruction via the stadium public address system.

A warning statement, appropriate for the severity of the weather conditions, will be issued whenever inclement weather approaches the City of Macon and / or the Mercer campus.

Event personnel will help direct fans to the safest exits so fans can leave the event as efficiently as possible. 

If notified to seek shelter immediately, the following buildings will be open and announcements will be made based on the following weather conditions:

I. Delay of game due to rain.Buildings open for rain delay are:

A. University Center

II. Delay of game due to lightning. Buildings open for shelter from lightning:

A. University Center

B. Science and Engineering Building—First Floor hallways

C. Willett Science Center—First floor hallways

III. Evacuation of event due to severe thunderstorm or tornado warning:

A. University Center—bottom floor hallways; Do not use arena seating!

B. Science and Engineering Building—First Floor hallways, away from entrance lobby!

C. Willett Science Center—First floor hallways, away from entrance lobby!
